Nicole & Chris are the proud owners of Whiskers & Wine! Since she was a child, Nicole has had a passion for animal welfare, and all kittens big and small. They visited Charleston, SC for the full eclipse in 2017, and discovered Pounce Cat Cafe. Adoptable cats, wine & beer!?! Perfection!
Nicole decided on the spot to ditch her two decade Corporate America HR career and become a certified Crazy Cat Lady! What could be better than an amazing experience where humans get cat therapy, and help socialize cage free cats in a supportive, enriched environment?
The journey from concept to creation took more than five years. Three and a half years were spent building the kitchen, cat cave, and second floor outdoor CATio on Adam’s Avenue in North Park. The grand opening was August 26, 2022, and Whiskers and Wine adopted more then 100 cats in its first 6 months!
Fun facts about Nicole & Chris: They love to travel and explore new places. They earned their sailing license for 35+ feet sailboats, and they both owned motorcycles. Chris is a consumer law attorney and is W&W’s IT, legal and technical expert.
Hi there! My name is Destiny and these are my babies Lulu, Gracie, and Bear. Lulu and Gracie are litter-mates that moved here with me not long ago from Salt Lake City, and I recently adopted Bear from Whiskers & Wine!
My favorite part of the job is seeing people fall in love with the cats and taking them to their furever homes! Outside work I enjoy exploring San Diego’s amazing food, reading at the beach, and watching movies or playing games with friends.
Hi, I'm Lizzy and this is my cat Jere. I was raised in San Diego (OB area). Usually you can find me in my bed with my cat, reading a book, drawing, or watching some new Asian drama. My whole life I was surrounded by animal including cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, lizards, & snakes. I have a deep love for animals and obviously cats are my favorite.
Hello! I'm Hailee and these are my two kitties Jeremiah and Jake. I was born and raised in San Diego. I've actually had Jake since I was 6-years-old and I've just recently adopted Jeremiah. I enjoy playing with my kitties, reading, listening to music, and watching lots of dramas.
Hello friends! I'm Emily and this is my family cat, Kiki. I've grown up with cats my entire life and consider myself partial to the feline companion, although I do love all animals. In my free time away from work you can usually find me guzzling coffee (or wine, if the day calls for it). Some fun facts about me are that I collect garden gnomes, and I have the gene that makes cilantro tastes like dish soap.
Hi! My name is Juliene and I am a certified cat lover. I’m originally from the Bay Area, but I’m now studying at UCSD in my senior year as a visual arts student. I like all things creative as well as gaming, anime, puzzles, spikeball, and more! I am happy to be apart of the Whiskers & Wine team and look forward to meeting more cat super fans >:3
